With spring hopefully upon us after a fierce winter and summer around the corner, it's time to get out those running shoes for a good cause!! I just signed up for the 2014 Race For Hope DC, a 5K course in the nation's capital, that is a fun and inspiring way to join forces in the fight against brain tumors by raising funds for research. The race is on Sunday, May 4 at Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC.
This is my second year running in the Race for Hope DC 5K. As some of you may know, I am a brain tumor survivor so I knew right away when I heard about this race that I had to push myself and do it. This race is an excellent example of a lovely quote I read a while ago for when we go through rough periods in our lives: "You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have." So if I could handle a brain tumor, a measly little 5K should be a piece of cake (I hope!)
To make this 5K more fun, I'd love for you and your friends to join my team in the race while supporting a great cause! As a novice runner, I could definitely use the support of more avid runners:) I hope you can make it on May 4!
