Overview

Music lovers are in for a treat on Sunday, Aug. 16, from 3 7 p.m., when Balsam Range, Chuck Johnson & Charlyhorse, and the John Gaar Trio team up for the Mans’ Jam National Brain Tumor Society Fundraiser at Amos’ Southend, 1423 S. Tryon St., Charlotte.

Mans’ Jam is named after the late Charlottean and Wells Fargo banker William “Mans” McLeod Jr. who died of a brain tumor in December 2012 at age 54. He was the son of Dr. Leslie McLeod and Dr. Jonnie McLeod both prominent physicians known for their accomplishments, involvement in the Charlotte community, and their participation in clinical trials throughout their lives.

“Mans loved all types of music and would be humbled and honored to hear we’re hosting Mans’ Jam with proceeds benefitting the National Brain Tumor Society. Mans listened to thousands of songs his friends downloaded on an iPod for him to use during radiation and chemotherapy and I know he would love the bands playing for us at Mans’ Jam," said his widow Carole McLeod.
